   Special Education Instructional Assistant - Bus Rider

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 4 hours per day (split between the morning and afternoon)

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must have a valid Oregon driver’s license.

2. Must be able to complete all tasks described in full job description (available upon request).

3. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

4. Applicant should possess the ability to work well with physical, mental and behavioral challenges.

5. Bilingual abilities preferred.

6. Will need to meet the criteria for “No Child Left Behind Act” set by law, and also complete all of the requirements under the State of Oregon statutes, rules and regulations that apply to these NCLB requirements.

7. Flexible, willing to work with a variety of grades to address student needs at times.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ride the bus to and from school with students

     a. hours are 

• 6:20-8:40 Monday through Friday and
• 2:10-4:00 (M,T,TH,F) 
• 1:10-3:00 Wednesday

2. Willingness and ability to assume responsibility of one-on-one working relationships with
    students and staff.

3. Will be required to provide health maintenance for students who have health plans

4. Must be willing to learn and follow health, behavioral and educational protocols written
    specific to individual students.
